After achieving his undergraduate degree at Fordham University, Staten Island trusts lawyer, Lance P. Armstrong served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and a special agent with the U.S.A.F. Office of Special Investigations in the counterintelligence and security detachment.
He was admitted to St. John’s University Law School under the G.I. Bill of Rights. While in law school, he was appointed confidential aide to Honorable Edward G. Baker, Justice of the Supreme Court, State of New York. Upon earning his Juris Doctorate, he opened his private practice. He is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Lance P. Armstrong is founding chairman of Richmond County Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee and continues in that role. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section and Elder Law Section, and the Staten Island Trial Lawyers Association.
He is the author of many legal articles in the quarterly Richmond County Bar Association Journal on asset protection guidelines. Lance P. Armstrong has lectured widely in the Richmond County Bar Associations’ Continuing Legal Education programs on topics including tax basis as part of estate planning, supplemental needs trusts, Medicaid planning in New York, and guardianship. He has lectured on estate planning and long-term care insurance at a variety of organizations, such as Raymond James, Merrill Lynch, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Staten Island University Hospital.
